What happens next?

1

Request a date

Complete the registration form. We’ll confirm eligibility, paperwork, and your appointment.

2

Take the test

Meet your examiner at our Skokie location and take the exam in our school vehicle.

3

Finish at the DMV

After passing, keep your test paperwork and bring it to the DMV when you meet all licensing requirements.

Passing the test does not issue your license. You must still meet Illinois licensing requirements, including being at least 16, holding your permit for at least nine months, and completing the required supervised practice. A parent or guardian must accompany you for license issuance.

Questions before your test

Can I test before holding my permit for nine months?

Eligible students may test with us before the nine-month permit period is complete. You still need to meet the age and permit requirements before obtaining your license at the DMV.

Do I need to bring my own car?

No. We provide the vehicle and insurance for your test.

Does my parent or guardian need to come?

Yes. A parent or legal guardian must be present to sign the consent form.

Will I still need a road test at the DMV?

A successful cooperative road test may waive the usual DMV road test for eligible students. Illinois can require a spot-check road test. The DMV confirms your final licensing requirements.

Is the mock test the official exam?

No. The $60 mock test is practice. The official road test is booked separately for another day and costs $100.

What if I’m 18 or older?

This teen road testing program is for ages 15–17. Call us about adult lessons and road test preparation.

How do I check that driver education is recorded?

Use the Illinois driver education completion check. Contact your education provider if your completion is missing.
